POETA EN LA CALLE

GLITCH

THE DEATH OF A PINK BALLOON

TWO PEARS JOURNEY

IMAGE, SOUND & EXPERIMENTATION

EXPERIMENTAL MEDIA

This selection brings together four experimental media projects exploring the relationship between image, movement, sound, and narrative. From the fronterizo poetry of Osvaldo Ogaz in Poeta en la Calle to the visual and bodily experimentation of Glitch, directed by Dr. Pablo Alonso Herraiz, these works approach audiovisual production as a space where performance, color, rhythm, and cultural expression intersect.

Glitch explores the relationship between color and the moving body through a visual composition built around bodily counterpoint, chromatic harmony, and sensory rhythm. Movement and color operate as interconnected forms of energy, creating a pictorial sequence in which the body becomes part of an evolving audiovisual composition. Through camera work, editing, sound design, and postproduction, the project transforms dance into an experimental dialogue between movement and visual form.

The collection also includes two animated microfictions that use unexpected visual and sonic disruptions to challenge conventional narrative structures. The Death of Pink Balloon, created in Cinema 4D, transforms a playful balloon into the protagonist of a miniature Western-inspired tragedy. A sudden gunshot interrupts the story, fragmenting the balloon into geometric forms before time reverses and restores it, invoking Henri Bergson's concepts of duration and temporal experience.

Two Pears Journey follows two pear-shaped hot-air balloons embarking on an epic voyage through stop-motion animation. Their journey unfolds to an orchestral soundtrack as paper-crafted travelers drift through the sky, only to be abruptly interrupted by a knife that slices through the pears and ends the narrative without warning. As the visual rhythm collapses, the soundtrack shifts dramatically, drawing inspiration from Norman McLaren's exploration of the expressive relationship between sound and moving images. The piece uses this sudden audiovisual rupture to transform an ordinary still life into an unexpected reflection on fragility, impermanence, and cinematic rhythm.

Together, these projects reflect an experimental approach to digital media production in which editing, animation, performance, cinematography, and sound design become active elements of visual storytelling. Across cultural television, video dance, 3D animation, and stop-motion, the collection demonstrates an interest in exploring how audiovisual form can shape narrative, disrupt expectations, and create new relationships between image and sound.
